1st African Congress, Cameroon, October 2005
THE International Stuttering Association (ISA) in collaboration with the Speak Clear Association of Cameroon (SCAC), organized the first ever African Conference on stuttering in Douala Cameroon. This conference took place from the 6th to the 8th of October 2005, brought together people who stutter (PWS) from African countries, prominent member of the ISA, speech treatment Pathologists, psychologists, researchers and educationalists from Australia, North America, Europe and Asia. The theme of the conference was “Understanding stuttering and its treatment”.
