I am really thankful to be serving on the Board of Directors for the International Stuttering Association, on behalf of the National Stuttering Association. I am a professional who has worked to better the experience of people who stutter and their families for the past 25 years. I have been a person who stutters for over 45 years. My first experience with the stuttering community was in 1990 when I joined the National Stuttering Project (now the National Stuttering Association). Since the mid-1990s, have been involved in chapter leadership and service to the National Stuttering Association in the USA. Currently, I am the chapter leader of the Toledo, Ohio (USA) chapter. I am also married and the father of two girls. I come from a lineage of people who stutter.

I am a Speech-Language Pathologist and Board-Certified Specialist in Fluency Disorders. I am also Professor at the University of Toledo, where I teach courses in stuttering, conduct research, and I am an active presenter at national and international conferences. I also operate The Gabel Center for Stuttering Therapy, a clinic in the Toledo Area. I also deliver educational programs for Speech-Language Pathologists through my clinic.
